Two events. Unrelated. Both jet fuel to Trump’s 2020 campaign.
Black Privilege
Walking the frigid streets of Chicago mid winter in a polar vortex is, I would imagine, uncomfortable.
So even if you were some rabid racist, gay hating Neanderthal swaggering about with a bottle of bleach you’d think twice about… you know, mooching about the streets at 2 AM in a polar vortex. The discomfort of it all would surely be some sort of deterrent. I understand that the temperature was well below freezing, which is so cold that you’d find lawyers with their hands inside their own pockets.
And then there’s the problem that, unless you had some knowledge of your victim’s movements in the wee hours of the morning, you’d realise that, like you, he’s still human. Which means that he, too, would find such conditions rather uncomfortable.
Now criminals, at least the garden variety who go about mugging folks, aren’t blessed with exceptional intelligence… or even very much at all.
But even the dullest of them would be hard pressed to mill about at 2 AM when it’s cold as a witch’s tit out, just waiting for what is — let’s face it — a super slim chance to mug their victim. This would take a very special kind of moron to think that the probabilities of Jussie venturing out for a sandwich at 2a AM (a sandwich, really?) was in any shape of form high probability.
These were perhaps the first thoughts that crossed the minds of the Chicago Police Department’s officers when Jussie Smollett’s faux hate crime was reported.
This didn’t stop the media from immediately jumping on the story and virtue signalling and screeching, “Look, see, there are Nazis… everywhere.”
That’s all fine and dandy and we know the result. A grand hoax designed to stoke an entire country into an us vs. them civil uprising and race war. And in that respect it’s done pretty darn well, so perhaps congratulations are in order for Jussie.
What’s more surprising than this ill thought hoax is that, despite the evidence (none of which has been contested), the case was suddenly and mysteriously dropped.
That the media made such a big issue out of this at the beginning has put them in a rather awkward position now since they’re basically required to report on the punishment. Except that there’s no punishment now. And they have to report on that, too.
Oh, how awkward!
There is and always will be a contingent that don’t care about the facts and “their guy” is their guy, no matter what. But there is a larger contingent who do care about such things and it is that contingent that the mainstream media just lost.
Because they now have to deal with the revelation that Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff intervened, pressuring the state prosecutor.
And this has implications for the next elections.
If you’ve not figured it out, it’s jet fuel to the Trump 2020 campaign.
The credibility of the left-leaning news media was already on shaky ground, and this is one more nail in that coffin.
Russiagate
In a recent piece “It’s official: Russiagate is this generation’s WMD” Matt Taibbi summed this up better than I ever could:
Nobody wants to hear this, but news that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller is headed home without issuing new charges is a death-blow for the reputation of the American news media.
I’ve written before about the Trump-Russian collusion charade.
Coming at this as I do, an outsider (non-US citizen) whose job involves investing capital, I look at this much as a scientist in a lab watching rats does (amused, interested, and occasionally terrified).
The entire “Russian hackers” idea was somewhat dubious from the get go.
The immediate “he’s not my President” response followed by numerous efforts to impeach, discredit, and bring down the President seemed, at least from an outsider’s perspective, to be increasingly desperate and based on hopes rather than facts.
And yet it got so much air time and those who, for whatever reason, wished that Trump hadn’t been elected jumped to the calling like well-trained poodles, extolling righteous condemnation on his antics.
Granted, he’s far from eloquent, and despite his own protestations to the contrary, not especially good looking. He’s brash with an ego to match and cheats on his wife with porn stars so yeah, we’ve reasons to believe he’s a tosser. But election meddling? Treason?
There was — and is — election meddling taking place, but it’s not from the Russians. Rather it’s from Silicon Valley companies, which today control the platforms that deliver the content the populace pay attention to.

Next week, I’ll show you exactly how this works, but for the time being let’s stick with the core message in this article. The media, by slavishly parroting what they so dearly wished to be true as fact, have just lost another significant chunk of their readership — a readership who are now more skeptical than ever.
We all know about the story of the boy that cried wolf.
Well, as the US moves into election cycle for 2020, there’ll be all sorts of stories cropping up to discredit all parties.
But there is one party… or candidate that has just been gifted a “get out of jail free” card. And that candidate is the current President.
